Culture Celebrations in the Kansas City Public Schools

Two schools participating in the Culturally Responsive Instruction for English Learners Project are celebrating the diversity of cultures represented in their classrooms this week. Whittier Elementary, home to six grant participants, hosted an auditorium full of students, parents, faculty, and staff at their Multicultural Day yesterday afternoon. Each class presented entertainment from a different country, taking guests on a tour around the world.

Tomorrow and Friday, May 16th and 17th, Foreign Language Academy invites the community to its World Cultures Celebration. The flyer provides an agenda with details on food and raffles at the Friday evening dance performances as well as information on where to view culture displays on both Thursday and Friday.
